Assessment

A thorough assessment is conducted to understand your child’s specific strengths and needs. It may consists of standardized tests, collecting language samples, child observations, and/or caregiver interviews. This process takes between one to two hours and results in a formal report. An assessment is recommended if your child isn’t meeting developmental milestones, following a recommendation by a teacher or doctor, or if it’s been more than 6 months since their last assessment.

Therapy

Once an assessment has been completed treatment can begin using evidence based techniques. At Two Bridges we use a child-led approach to establish an authentic connection and to engage your child in therapy. Sessions typically occur one to two times per week and are 30- or 60-minutes long. Sessions take place in a child’s natural environment (e.g., home, school, community based, teletherapy).
